Rider Info 3MM 2008
Please Read!!
1) 95 mile course has green arrows on road, 75 mile course has orange arrows on road, and 41 mile course has yellow arrows.
2) There will be two arrows before the turn and one after the turn to confirm the turn.
3) There are 5 rest stops on the 75 mile course at miles 24, 32, 45, 60, and 66.
4) There are two rest stops on the 41 mile course at miles 19 and 34 miles.
5) There are 6 rest stops on the 95 mile course at 24, 32, 45, 69, 79, and 85 miles.
6) If you are trying to ride the 95 mile loop without stopping, there are full bottles of fluid available at rest stop 2 (top of Hanging Rock mile 32) and at Hauser road hill (mile 61.5 of the 95 mile loop). There will be volunteers at those locations to hand you the bottles. Just ask for them as you approach. There will be approximately 50 bottles at each location. They will also have a box to take empty water bottles back to the start if you want to leave an empty water bottle. Please try to leave empty water bottles at these two points and do not litter on the course.
7) At the finish line, everyone must go through the finish chute to get a finishing time. Do not e-mail me after the event and tell me what time you finished if you did not go through the finish chute. If you finish in a bunch, please stay in line in the chute in the order you finished, to help our people get the correct times, etc.
8) Please be careful on the descents, stay to the right, do not cross the center line and do not exceed the park speed limit of 25 mph.
9) The mountain climbs are up and back so you can skip any or all of the climbs and stay on the longer courses. If you get tired on the way up, you can turn and go back down and continue on the course.
10) We need for those of you with personal sags to avoid following the ride at the start. We have a number of mechanical problems in the first 20 miles and personal sags behind the riders reduce our ability to get support to those riders that need it. Please take an alternate route (down 268 East) and join up with the ride at some point beyond the first rest stop. If we have more congestion at the start we will end up banning personal sags in the future. Your help with this matter will be appreciated. If you need help with directions, just e-mail us and we will provide specific directions.
11) Helmets are mandatory and must be worn throughout the ride. I realize that the pros take theirs off for climbs, but they have roads closed to traffic. We still have open roads with cars going up and down these mountains, so please adhere to the helmet rule throughout the ride.
